▴ Château Poujeaux 2009

There is no doubt that Poujeaux consistently delivers, and is one of the best wines in Moulis. This 2009 Crus Bourgeois in my mind rivals many of the classed growths of the vintage. It exudes generosity of fruit, complexity, layers of blackcurrant with sous-bois notes interlayered, and it bounces and swirls around the palate, with a long elegant finish – pure class. It has become a regular show stealer when served at home, and at around £400 a case is a total fine-wine bargain.

Price £380 – £420 a case
