Tenuta di Ghizzano, Nambrot 2019

A blend of 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Petit Verdot; 18 months in barrique, 12 months in bottle.

Mid-ruby colour, a whiff of forest berries and cigar box on the nose, on the palate a firm grip of blackcurrants, fresh mint, plush and juicy. There is purity here and a deep firm core of delicious energised fruit, black pepper, cinnamon, with a wonderful core of acidity driving through, very long and despite the concentration of the fruit, there is lightness of touch too. Refined and elegant.
